It’s finally fall! We are seeing all kinds of beautiful pumpkins, gourds, sunflowers, and chrysanthemums at market this week. I couldn’t help putting them together for this arrangement. The dahlias are on their way out, but mine are still doing just fine since we haven’t seen frost yet in Seattle. Hopefully they hold out a few more weeks! As one farmer told me this morning, “It’s October–you never know!”

If you’d like to celebrate fall with an arrangement like this, just visit the shop and we can make it happen! We can also get local ornamental pumpkins and gourds of all sizes. Just send an e-mail with what you’d like, and we will make all your pumpkin dreams come true!

If you need to grab yourself a carving or pie pumpkin this month, please consider visiting a local farm to do it. Personally, I suggest going to see Amy down at Four Elements Farm. She has a lovely farm store in an old restored barn, and I got a gigantic organic pumpkin along with some veggies, which were delicious. If Four Elements is too far away from you, there is also this relatively comprehensive list from the Stranger of pumpkin patches around the Seattle area. Hope y’all find time to make it to a local farm to enjoy this first taste of fall!
