Are you looking at inspiration photos and asking yourself, "What wedding flowers do I need?" You're not alone! Often, my clients ask me what flowers they need in certain spaces, or what I would recommend. The possibilities can be endless. Last week, we talked about how to develop a wedding planning checklist. So at this stage in the journey, my hope is that you now know what your priorities are for your wedding. Typically, you'd know what vendors are on your checklist, and what tasks you need to complete. But once you know that you need floral design, how do you actually know "what wedding flowers do I need?"
So this week, we are talking about how to prioritize your floral needs and come up with a plan. First, I want to share with you some key tips about how to figure out what wedding flowers you need:
- Flowers should enhance the parts of your wedding that are most important to you. Use flowers to give your event more emphasis where it matters! And thanks to the work you did last week to list your priorities, you know exactly what that means to you. This varies dramatically by couple, which is why in my business, there is no "one-size-fits-all" floral design.
- Personal flowers often get priority. Learn why some people only need bouquets and boutonnieres to feel like they got the flowers they needed.
- Let the pros help you. If you can't figure out what you need, start with a list of wants. Any good floral designer will help you narrow down from there. We want you to have an amazing wedding!
Next, you'll want to make a checklist and start ranking your items, very similar to what we did last week. Florists can always make recommendations, but we can't tell you what is most important to you! So this week, I'm sharing a comprehensive list of wedding flowers to help you think through all the things you might need. It has every single floral line item that I have prepared for any client who asks! It also includes a lot more information on the three key tips I shared above. It's far too long to put here, especially with the checklist included. But you can get the whole big PDF by entering your e-mail below. It will definitely give you the tools to answer the question, "what wedding flowers do I need?"
Next week, we are going to talk more in depth about centerpieces so you know what options are out there. In the meantime, if you have other questions you would like to see answered, please leave a comment below! And whenever you are ready to talk about your wedding, you can read about our approach to weddings and book a consultation here! Hope you all have a great week!
